MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi), NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Corporation) and, Delhi Cantonment Board are the authorities for registration of Births and deaths in Delhi. NDMC, MCD and Delhi Cantonment Board are the Birth certificate issuing agencies in Delhi.
Procedure for getting a Birth Certificate in Delhi:
The Birth and Death Certificates in Delhi are issued by the Local Bodies namely MCD, NDMC, Delhi Cantonment Board within 7 days from the date of receipt of application from the applicant. Single copy of Birth Certificate is given free of cost to the applicant immediately after the registration procedure is completed. Additional copies of the Birth certificate are also issued @ Rs.5/- per copy. Applications for birth certificate can be made online at www.mcdonline.gov.in and the birth certificate is delivered by Courier/post with in 21 days of application for birth certificate. Further details on getting birth/ death certificate can be had from www.delhi.gov.in
