Delhi Driving Licence : Renewal of Driving Licence in Delhi, India

No person shall drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds an effective driving license issued to him authorizing him to drive a vehicle of that particular category.

Driving license is valid for a period of 20 years from the date of issue or till the licensee attains 50 years whichever is earlier. Driving license is required to be renewed after expiry of its validity.

Applicants for renewal of driving license have approach the local office of zonal transport office and submit the expired driving license along with two recent pass port photos, Proof of age and residence, prescribed fee and medical certificate for fitness. If the license is not applied for renewal with in 6 months from the date of expiry of driving license the applicants have to apply for fresh driving license.

    I had applied for renewal of my driving licence on 6th july 2010.
    and paid renewal fee of rs 250 vide receipt no. sk-42455 dt 6th juy 2010
    Please tell me the status of the same, ie when the licence was posted to me.
