No person shall drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds an effective driving license issued to him authorizing him to drive a vehicle of that particular category.

Duplicate License is issued in case of loss, theft or on mutilation. Driving license holders are advised to keep photo copy of the original license with them so that it becomes easy for the transportation authorities to issue duplicate license.

To get a? duplicate license,? applicants? have to approach the regional zonal transport office authorities, who are the driving license? issuing authority and submit the following documents.

Application in Form LLD, FIR of the lost license and prescribed fee for issue of duplicate driving license.

Validity of duplicate driving license is that of original driving license.
