Kolkata is the capital of west Bengal state in India. An appropriate driving License is a legal requirement for operating any motor vehicle in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. A driver’s license which is issued by the competent authority in Kolkata, West Bengal state is valid throughout India. Initially learners driving license is issued and later after completion of driving test conducted by RTO (Regional Transport Office) officials. Regional RTO officials in Kolkata, west Bengal issue driver?s license for 5 years or till the candidates attains the age of 50 years.
After the age of 50, the license can be renewed for a period of 5 years at a time. An Expired license is valid for 30 days and can be renewed during this grace period without a penalty. Dear Sir,
I was earlier staying in Hyderabad for a long period. While I was in Hyderabad I was awarded my Driving Licence from Addl. Licencing Authority, R.T.A. Secunderabad Zone, Andhra Pradesh vide Driving Lecince No. – 95772 / SD / 99 (Date Of Issue: 11.03.1999),for Light Motor Vehicle. My lecence is valid till 31.10.2010.
Since my Licence needs to be renewed I would like to know the procedure for renewal of my above licence at Kolkata.
