NIT (National Institute of Technology) Rourkela which is being proposed to be made into IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) has issued notification for Admissions into Post Graduate (Master of Technology and Science) programmes for the academic year 2009-10.
Courses offered:
1. M.Tech. ( 4 Semesters ) in Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, Telematics & Signal Processing, VLSI Design & Embedded System, Electronics System & Communication, Power Control & Drives , Machine Design & Analysis, Production Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering And Mining Engineering
Eligibility:
Should pass B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. or equivalent degree in the discipline as mentioned above with not less than 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination. The candidates appearing B.E. / B.Tech / M.Sc. (final semester) examination may also apply for the above course.
2. M.Sc. ( 4 Semesters) :
Chemistry, Physics , Mathematics and Life Science
Eligibility :
The candidate must have acquired B.Sc. degree with the subject applied for as one of the subjects (either in pass or Honors) . Mathematics in +2 levels is compulsory for Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics branches. Admission to the programme will be made on the basis of career marking as decided by the Institute. Candidates appearing B.Sc. final Examination may also apply for the above programme by due date, however they are required to submit their mark sheet at the time of Counseling and admission.
3. Slow Pace Programme
All M.Tech. and M.Sc. programmes are also offered in slow pace (3 years for M.Tech and 4 years for M.Sc.) to candidates, employed (including self employment) in industry / organizations in and around Rourkela.
