There are so many parties coming up in Andhra Pradesh. The main parties are congress, TDP and Prajarajyam. Apart from these the left parties namely CPI and CPM also have presence across the state.
BJP(Bhratiya Janatha Party) the main opposition to the congress at the centre is having its presence across the state.
MIM, supported by Muslims is having its presence in Hyderabad and some towns in telangana. Lok Satta was formed under the leadership of Jayaprakash Narayan, with the idea of maintaining some standards in politics.
K. Chandrasekhara Rao founded TRS (Telangana Rashta Samithi) and is fighting for the cause of separation of the state hood for telangana. Another Telugu Desam rebel T.Devender Goud along with E.Peddi Reddy started NTPP( Nava Telangana Praia Party) for the cause of Telangana. Another Film actress Vijayasanthi is fighting for the telangana cause by floating a party with name Talli Telangana Party.
BSP, SP, Siva sena are all having their wings in AP.
K.A.Paul, head of a Christian minority trust Global Peace Mission is also coming to politics. Pyramid spiritual Society, a spiritual organization in Andhra Pradesh has floated a party and contested the 2004 elections.
The present assembly is having representatives from 10 parties.
